A Chat with "Linger" Author Hetty McKinnon

Be warned -- you'll want to invite everyone over.

Thanks to those of you who tuned into my live video with

to talk about her beautiful, soulful new cookbook Linger, and the way she used salads (riotously gorgeous salads) to connect with her community. Here, she walks us through recipes we need to make right now — including a center-of-the-table Tom Kha noodle dish and a tabouleh-adjacent quinoa salad with pomegranates that I can’t stop thinking about — but also give us some hard-and-fast Rules, like whether fruit belongs in a salad (or whether lettuce belongs for that matter), and why she believes salads should always be served at room-temperature. Let me just say, the woman’s got opinions. Don’t even get her started on salad servers.

Enjoy the video — you can order Linger here.
