As someone who works from home and spends way too much quality time with her MacBook Pro, I have always made a point to pack my calendar with dinners and walks and coffee dates and events, and whatever else keeps me sane and connected to the world*. This practice/neurosis becomes especially urgent in the winter — the New York kind of winter — when I find myself wondering: Why go out and be freezing when I can just stay in my cozy, warm apartment and watch The Great British Baking Show with the dog? The answer, of course, is that I’m always always happier when I choose to go out, to say yes, to do something instead of not doing it. Here are some highlights from the past few weeks…
