Good morning everyone! I am writing this on Tuesday, 48 hours after the New York City Marathon ended, and I’m still riding a high from the weekend, which I’m ready to officially declare my favorite weekend of the year. I drove my family crazy on Sunday morning rushing them out of the apartment super early to secure a good spectating spot — Mile 24 in Central Park — and we were there a full hour before any runners came through. I didn’t care, especially since I had packed a Kossar’s picnic to keep us company, and it was a postcard-perfect fall day. We were early enough to see the leaders whoosh by (shown: Alexander Mutiso and Benson Kipruto, the winner by a fraction of a second), then stayed to watch the mere mortals, cheering them on as they hit the final leg, a mostly downhill stretch on the east side of the park.
