Greetings eaters and readers! I’ve returned from Italy, where I was lucky enough to spend one week hosting a Via Rosa food tour in Puglia, and one week with Andy in Rome. Even though I was “working” that first week and newsletter-ing the whole time I was away, it was one of those trips where I felt very far from home in the best possible way — I would see a photo on my phone taken in my apartment back in NYC and think I can’t even remember what it feels like to live there…or to live any life that doesn’t include pasta every day, sometimes even twice a day. But here I am, back in the New York groove, jamming myself into a subway car with eight hundred other people and taking the dog up and down the elevator eight million times a day for her walks. I’m not complaining — it’s always great to be home, and I have a bunch of friends coming for dinner in the next few weeks which I’m very much looking forward to.
