I love Abby and the cousins would you rather question. It’s an impossible conundrum because I love…sauce so much. More than kissing? I’m not sure, but maybe.

I always love reading your newsletter, Jenny—but it's such a treat to see you talking about Ash Parsons's essay and prompt! Total gem ❤️

I love this salmon bowl idea and will make it this week! It reminds me of a favorite salmon bowl from NYT Cooking - miso salmon with sushi rice. Incredible. I greatly appreciate the 10 things/moments reflection. I have started and stopped a similar practice called the Examen a la Ignatian spiritual exercises. Reviewing the day gives it more dimension and makes it more lasting. Thank you for all the good thoughts you bring to us here. xoxo

Thank you for the cooking and writing inspiration and for introducing me to Hisham’s work last year. My Friends is a beautiful book!

I love the salmon bowl with rice and the beautiful picture of the salad on the rooftop. I also enjoyed 10 images. I’ve been doing a short form most nights before I fall asleep. I think back to 3 things that I am grateful for that day. Today’s are: 1. Key lime granola 2. Watching my son have lunch with some friends after a golf tournament 3. Finishing a big work project.

I love this prompt. Tried it before falling asleep and it was such a nice way to end the day. Surprising, too, what stood out. 🥰

We had elaborate (fun but exhausting!)Advent traditions that as our kids became adults changed into daily questions in December. We learn so much about their adults selves, and have begun to include partners (when they make the cut...) - some are the "would you rather" version, others are just general questions. I am going to add the snapshot-type idea for 1-2 days to add some variety - maybe people just give a simple list of 5, or send 5 images. Thanks so much for the idea!

I just read Lisa Genova's "Remember" for book club and "Pay Attention" is her first and loudest tip. For the rest, you must read at least the appendix of her book. Good stuff- story and science but not too science! (Also yum)

I want to eat like those first and second pics all the time. It's a challenge with two growing boys. I always have to add one more carb.

I’ve done tomato and watermelon but not tomato and plums. I definitely want to try this. The only way I usually consume plums is in the Plum Torte from Marian Burros. Terrible I know but I have such a sweet tooth.

Loved Dept. Q - we binged it a few weeks back. Such a great cast of characters - hoping for a second season. 🤞

I love that prompt idea. Alchemy is in my stack of books waiting to be read, and will now move to the top. So often I fail to pay attention, life would be richer if these moments were noticed.
