Good morning subscribers! In honor of summer entertaining, aka my favorite kind of entertaining, please find one complete menu to cook for friends, from appetizers to dessert, including shopping list and game plan for exactly what to make when. What I like about this menu, besides its unpretentious deliciousness, is that all of the sides can be made ahead of time, so the only thing you have to do when your friends are nibbling on cheese and nuts is excuse yourself for 10 minutes to finish up the main. The line-up also takes into account that maybe someone in your party might be gluten-free or vegetarian, without hitting you over the head with a menu that is gluten free or vegetarian, if you know what I mean. For next month’s plan, since I know you’ll ask, I will aim to give you a menu that is centered around the grill.
Please note! I encourage you to reply “dessert” when your friend texts “What can I bring?” It will make them feel good and your life easier. On the other hand, the fruit cobbler in this menu line-up is absurdly summery and easy, and just the right job to outsource to a willing-and-able kid looking for a productive way to spend their Saturday.
Enjoy and, as always, let me know if you have questions or issues.
Now, for the line-up…
