College: The Cartoon
As seen through my daughter's eyes
Since my kids are no longer living under my roof for most of the year, I’ve had to be creative in the way I stalk them, I mean, learn about the details of their everyday lives. Following them on instagram helps, so does BeReal, and the family group chat is, thankfully, as robust as ever. But I’m also lucky in another respect: Phoebe, my eldest, a junior at a small liberal arts school in the Midwest, is the cartoonist for her college paper, and started a companion instagram account that’s about all kinds of things, but mostly day-to-day college life seen through her unique (read: absurdist, Buddhist, insightful) eyeballs. I’m grateful for every post, and I thought I’d share a few of my favorites…
