Welcome to the second installment of Operation Dinner Party, my mission to convince you to cook for your friends, no matter how little time you have, what level of cook you are, or what state of mess your house is in. I am not lying when I say that I’ve been serving a version of this dinner to friends for two decades. It’s where my brain goes the second I invite someone over — so long as that someone eats meat, that is. (If they don’t, SEE: Please Everyone Dinner Party #1.) I make it so often that the shopping list is on my notes app so I don’t have to re-invent the wheel every time. And now, lucky you, I’ve cut and pasted that shopping list below, along with the game plan for the night and all the recipes you’ll need, from cocktails to dessert. All you have to do is figure out who to invite.
