Friday Eating & Reading
Delighted to report that I've once again collaborated with the fresh, wholesome, all-around awesome meal-delivery service Marley Spoon. Check out next-week's menu line-up (click "May 2"), which includes my Hoisin Burgers and a springy Salmon with Herby Green Mayo from Mad Hungry's Lucinda Scala Quinn. (Side note: Wouldn't a box be a nice gift for your over-taxed, dinner-loving significant other?) Bonus for DALS readers: Type in code DALS35 to get $35 off your first box.

Yesterday, DALS partner Applegate arranged for a bunch of bloggers to spend a gorgeous spring day at Stone Barns Center, where farmers and educators got us up to speed on the latest ideas in sustainability and farm-driven eating. (Highlight: Harvesting beautiful, hyper-sweet winter-grown Mokum carrots, then chopping off their stems, and, using a bike-powered blender, whirling the carrot tops into pesto for dipping.) Anyone who has spent time on this blog knows that the farm is fifteen minutes from my house, and knows what a source of happiness and inspiration it has been for my family for over a decade now. But here's good news for those of you who aren't so geographically fortunate: Stone Barns is offering a complimentary subscription to their Food Citizen Feed, where anyone can sign on to learn how to advocate for a more healthy food future. Sign up here and enter the code DINNERLVSTORY16 when prompted.
Happy Passover my friends.
