Greetings Eaters and Readers!
Last night was my final official book event of the month, a virtual meet-up with readers to talk about The Weekday Vegetarians: Get Simple. A link to the recording is below if you’d like to watch.
We had fun! Even though I very much missed my conversation partner, the great Emily Nunn, who was dealing with the wrath of Hurricane Helene down south, and wasn’t able to join us. (Hope all is well, Emily!) The good news is, readers came armed with excellent questions, including but not limited to: How does one avoid food waste as a vegetarian? How do we have the Protein Talk with a skeptical diner? How do I decide which recipes are photographed? (Which led to some funny BTS photo shoot stories.) Do I know my new Upper West Side neighbors yet? And of course: What recipes from the book should we make first?
After what feels like a month of tomato-and-corn talk, I was thrilled to be able to highlight a few fall favorites like (clockwise from top left): Sweet Potato/Tahini Toasts with Pecans, Butter-Fried Cabbage with Apples, Sour Cream & Dill, Roasted Vegetable Reuben, and the Farro Piccolo with Mushroom and Egg, a perfect umami-loaded dinner.
Please feel free to comment if you have a question that was not covered. I hope you enjoy!
