so glad you enjoyed Lisbon, we often say when we are travelling / on holiday " there are not enough meals in the day for all we would like to eat!" I think Lisbon definitely falls into that category!

We loved Lisbon and Portugal in general! We're native Californians and Portugal is CA... But BETTER!! Also love that we travel alike... my favorite places to visit in new cities are the markets... Gather what looks good and cook a FEAST 😋

Where did you find your woven placemats, if you don’t mind my asking? They look lovely and large but not too large. Now that the kid is old enough to leave for college, I’m thinking I can finally lose the oilcloth and risk exposing my aunty’s mid century dining table to the air again…:)

Jenny!! I don't know where to begin? I'm on an airplane as I type and feeling very emotional... thank you for all of this: for summing up the spirit of Pizza Night so beautifully and for sharing photos and recipe pairings and for your kind words. So looking forward to our chat at Rizzoli in just a week! Thank you 💕💕💕

Christmas Day 2019 we landed in Barcelona with our at the time 24 and 26 year old daughters. We stayed at an Airbnb quite literally on top of the entrance to La Boqueria. I knew enough to go deep into the market to get away from tourist stalls. One of our best dinners was a trip into the market for a couple bottles of wine, lots of jamón ibérico and a bunch of various olive/cheese/seafood thread on to sticks. We sat on our rooftop overlooking the market entrance with the magical lights and got wine drunk. Finished with the girls running downstairs into La Rambla to bring back hot Nutella crepes.

What a lovely review of Pizza Night! Ali SO deserves it. Your comment about how she demystifies cooking is spot on. Her website videos are just terrific. My copy of Piza Night should arrive today! Pizza Party happening soon! 😋

about tempeh: have you tried steaming it? before roasting / pan frying. it takes a little bitterness out. also if you ever get the chance to try freshly made tempeh, do!! it’s much better. I linked a recipe below that’s an great gateway tempeh based meal.

Lisbon is on our list to travel to. I'm still not a fan of Tempeh. Love Tofu and I was interested to find your tips on cooking it. Thank you.

My sister's wedding is just outside Lisbon in a few weeks, can't wait to be back and read your recap. And loved our Sicily market turned apartment dinner.

Love the way you travel! When I traveled for four months before settling in Portugal, I packed my own knives in my suitcase. I couldn’t risk the mediocre Airbnb knives for that long! 😆

How fun! I spent a mere 36 hours in Lisbon last year and I am dying to go back for much longer this time. Your vacation highlights reel will serve me well... as your Kiawah Island one did a couple of summers ago!

As a vegetarian for over 30 years, I can tell you that...you might not acquire a taste for tempeh (because it's gross! IMO -- no shade to anyone who is Team Tempeh).
