Couple people have replied to my email wondering if you bake the chicken with the marinade. You do not! You don't even really need to brush off any excess marinade dripping off the chicken pieces. Just place the legs/thighs right on the foil.
Made the Picnic Chicken last night and here are some direct quotes from my 11yr old... "this chicken is fantastic" and "I just ate the last leg, it was just to irresistible". These are not things I hear. He asked where I got the recipe and I told him about you and your site, and how we've been using your recipes since 2011. And we always love them. He then listed all his favorites - Lemon Soup (Avgolemono), Mustard Chicken, Turkey Chili, Sausage Hats (orecchiette w sausage and broccoli), Pork Ragu, Homemade Pizza, The Good Steak (Tony's steak) - to which I said YES. Then he asked about these popsicles we make, and that was your only miss, HA. We ended with him telling me I should email you a thank you...from him.
Yesterday my grandmother gifted me a whole box of grapefruits and I wasn’t sure what I would do with them all. Made the Brown Derby last night- very nice!
I am definitely making the Picnic Chicken in the oven this week, Whole Foods here in Northern California even has drumsticks on sale (they must have read this!), thanks for the reminder, I have made it on the grill for parties but never in the oven.
I want to try all three of these things this week! One question: what's the best way to print from here? I loved the way you had the print feature on DALS (where you could delete/select the sections to print). I can't find a way to print this other than the regular print dialogue and would love that as a future feature enhancement. Thanks and thanks for all of this deliciousness!
Thanks for the inspiration. I've taken some drumsticks out of the freezer to do this for our lunches! And even though we're doing dry January right now I've added the cocktail to our "want to try" list!
My Uncle Jimmy, who was from Saint Helena Island, S.C., used to make a drink called, in our extended family, the Jimmy Walpole. Bourbon and grapefruit juice. Big pours of both. No syrup at all, so it was extremely sour. I'm sure it would have been tasty with the honey syrup and a limited amount of bourbon!

I should clarify - there was no miss on your part with popsicles! Simply the popsicle recipe did not come from you :-)
the brown derby is insanely good! thanks for sharing.

I do not know WHY I haven't made this chicken yet. It is going on next weeks dinner menu.

For now, I think you can just print the emails, but I'm working on it!
Good one! Love a Brown Derby.
Just added to my shopping list: chicken thighs, broccolini.

Love the picnic chicken, but haven't made it in years- thanks for the reminder!
