The last word is my favorite cocktail! If you want to get real crazy try subbing out the gin for mezcal- the hint of smokiness takes it to the next level!
For a wonderful cookbook/read (and some background on the monks of Le Grande Chartreuse, who historically produced Chartreuse), pick up a copy of Roy Andries de Groot's classic, "The Auberge of the Flowering Hearth."
I'm writing a biography of Norman Maclean, who visited Le Grande Chartreuse when he was tutoring the children of Gus Swift and AA Armour of meat-packing fame in 1930. Matthew Arnold also went there on his honeymoon. Anyway, Norman said the bottle had gold flakes in it when the liquid evaporated! Only one monk in the monastery was allowed to speak.
You are not clueless -- I did not explain it very well! Bonus content always arrives in inboxes on Thursday or Friday. This week, I'm aiming to send the Brunch Menu + Shopping List out by Wednesday. So if you just subscribed today, look for it then! Thank you so much for your support.

I love the Last Word but use it as my St. Patrick's day birthday cocktail!! In Winter I like the Japanese Cocktail which uses orgeat and Cognac! I got it from this book: https://www.target.com/p/3-ingredient-cocktails-by-robert-simonson-hardcover/-/A-52169614?ref=tgt_adv_XS000000&AFID=google_pla_df&fndsrc=tgtao&DFA=71700000012510700&CPNG=PLA_Entertainment%2BShopping%7CEntertainment_Ecomm_Hardlines&adgroup=SC_Entertainment&LID=700000001170770pgs&LNM=PRODUCT_GROUP&network=g&device=c&location=9028278&targetid=pla-308131048976&ds_rl=1246978&ds_rl=1248099&gclid=Cj0KCQiAk4aOBhCTARIsAFWFP9HMFTl20uXSF0D2Ddr-p2754fhK3RiOJD3B8NdUBFUFMZgt8_t2JMQaAjgdEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

Hi- sorry to be so clueless... Where can I find the brunch menu? (I have the $5/month plan. Is that sufficient?) Still figuring out Substack. 😊
