The poem really hit home with me. My sons and I have been talking about people ghosting them. I think people really should tell the truth and tell it slant.
Listening to The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver. One of the characters recites that Dickinson poem and it is woven into the narrative surrounding Ada, who is crippled and sees life slanted and backwards. It is an exceptional long listen, and Bible like in complexity of its characters and wideness of terrain from Congo in Africa to Atlanta, Georgia and back.
Hi Jenny! I make your pork ragu every Christmas and this year we’re adding to the headcount - 15! Would you suggest making two batches? If I cook in advance, what are your thoughts on fridge v freezing? Love your recipes!
We have the Corner Bistro John Donohue print in our living room. My husband’s must-visit place when we’re in the city (we haven’t been since 2020 so we’re overdue a trip).
Oh, more music recs please! Loving John Fahey!
I assume everyone knows about Phil Spector's Christmas Album but just in case not:

Oh my goodness that poem -- thank you Jenny, thank you Abby! (or was that Phoebe?) Anyway, what a way with words Emily had - so darn true!
