Thank you for reintroducing me to Odette. I have her pasta book & obviously read it, judging from the number of recipes I marked. But your recollection of her relaxed entertaining approach plus skimming her substack together reminded me of Nigella Lawson’s lustiness for food. So I’m rereading Simple Pasta - for the stories more than the recipes - & want to cook. Starting with her shrimp.
Entertaining question for you Jenny: what’s the typical protocol for hosting a party for a friend’s book? Week of pub date? Weeks later? Week before? Thank you!
I am not an expert but I guess I would say within 2-3 weeks of publication, so author can prioritize “promotional” events, but really there is no wrong time!
Yum! Could the filling in the rhubarb turnovers function as a rhubarb jam as well? I’m not looking for a shelf stable recipe - I just really want to make a fruit spread for toast or scones. ❤️
Thanks for the ice-and-water trick! I’ll use it at my son’s HS grad open house on Saturday. Grats to your grad!

I will cook and party, with you any day Jenny. xxx

Thank you so much Jenny for being such a Food Person champion and model! Excited to see you tonight!
Hooray!

Yes for sure
I made my first rhubarb compote/jammy goodness last night and my world has been rocked.
Go Knicks!
