I love a shaved Brussels salad so much, and never thought to put currents in with the parm! (I usually do lemon, parm and walnuts). My friend reminded me last weekend that a food processor, if available, makes quick (less scary) work of shaving all those little bits.
Yes, it's East Fork -- I partnered with them on my last book, The Weekday Vegetarians, so you might recognize it from those pages. I love the size -- not too big, not too small.
Thanks for all these great ideas this week. I'm making that salad this weekend! I call my food prepping "chop therapy", I agree it can be so mediative.
I met Taffy when I was just new to New York and trying to be a writer (some of us have better luck with that than others!) and I’ve been reading Catherine since my kids were born the same times as hers, so this summer stack feels like synchronicity for me!
I made the coconut rice with Brussels sprouts the other night, and when my meat loving husband asked where I got the recipe, I said Dinner a Love Story…rather than Weekday Vegetarian😀. As for currants, I’ve never seen a fresh or a box of dried…what else would work? Thanks. I’m hoping I can find fresh ramen…

Jenny, would you share where you found the salad bowl featured in this post? It’s lovely!

Thank you!
OMG those t-shirts are epic!
Love all these recipes! How long did it take you to mandolin the Brussels sprouts?
hmmmm, about 15 minutes probably?
sheet pan ramen! what a concept!!

Definitely use the finger protector on the mandolin! :)
I recall I bought the mandolin you recommended in one your posts and it is sharp, but makes the cuts so thin!
