Funnily enough, I'm heading to Sicily (Noto area) on May 26!! Any tips for food/sights? It's my first time.

Question: for the crustless quiches, did you follow the recipe in your book and just bake straight in the dish with no crust? Or do you have other tips to convert the recipe to crustless? Thanks!!

Yes, that's what I did, and weirdly they came out a tiny bit watery, which is strange because that recipe has never failed me before. To be safe, add an extra egg yolk or whisk in a little flour to the mixture. Otherwise, delicious!

Ortigia is so wonderful! Our favourite piadini were here:

Cala Piada

And on the mainland an amazing butcher’s shop:

Ammucca - Sicilian Quality Meat Food

with a few tables inside where you choose your meat, sides, €5 carafe of wine etc. and they cook it for you. Joy! Have an amazing time.

Are you hosting another Italy trip in 2024? My mom and I are very interested! We’re spending a week with Melissa Clark in Puglia in April!

The Guest sounds thrilling! And like a future movie. I’m trying to imagine how incredible it must be for you and your girls to have such insider access to advance novels, and the stories they will one day tell of their lives growing up with you and Andy; good food and good books--the ultimate luxuries at the end of the day.

Enjoy Sicily!!
