I saw that story from the Guardian too- framed some of the sweet artwork my second grader made this year because of #15 :) Buying frames that weren’t super expensive was the hardest part- so going to Goodwill and painting cheap frames that were big enough worked out well.

Thanks for the salad inspiration! This feels like a dumb question but here goes: how do you manage all the washing, drying, and chopping of produce for salads? do it all ahead of time? buy pre-chopped? shrug and wash/dry/chop it all on a given weeknight? is a food processor worth it for this sort of thing?

This seemingly simple set of tasks turns out to be a Thing that keeps me from casually eating salads as much as I'd like to. I'd be so thrilled to discover there's a trick I'm missing. (Or even a way to slightly improve it without really trying. :) )

Jenny- I just love reading your Three Things... I feel like an old friend is just around the corner. Thank you so very much. Classical music is The Best (and this from a non musical person).. I listen to it all the time, especially Mozart with his bright and usually joyful overtones. A bit of God given magic to me. I cannot wait to read Denk's book. And, hopefully I can find the zoom conversation later? Dinner plans on 3/22, so I will miss my first chance.

You might enjoy Clemency Burton-Hill’s Year of Wonder, which suggests a piece of classical music to listen to for every day of the year, and explains a bit about its background and why it’s interesting.

She also had a wonderful podcast on WNYC called The Open Ears Project, which featured famous people talking about their favourite pieces of classical music. My favourite episode is Robert McFarlane on Chopin’s Berceuse which is a magical piece of music
