🥲A beloved aunt gave me Essentials for a wedding gift 20something years ago and I still consider it the all-time number 1 cookbook to have on your shelf. Roast chicken with lemon was the recipe I made almost weekly for years when my daughter was very little (leftovers were gold). Now who can I give this new edition to as a gift...🥰🥰🥰
Trying to imagine the joy of having one's book make it to a 30th-anniversary makeover. So special, and what a worthy one. (the original is still a treasure in my collection).
Jenny, I 100% agree with you--if anyone leaves a party I host and ghosts me, they will NOT be invited back. Although I did click the link to the Cup of Jo and read her explanation and I might forgive the person if they wrote the nice thank you note the same evening. But a caring goodbye is the least a person can do after we go through all the work and expense of hosting. Even though I love to host, I still expect some appreciation! The only thing worse than being ghosted is being stood up. Don't cancel last minute unless it's an emergency.
Oh man, JOSIE'S, RIP. So many weekend brunches spent re-hashing the night before and planning the week to come. Thank you for that nostalgic blast from the past mention + nostalgic food memory. Definitely adding that dip to the rotation.
YESSS!!!! Josie's was so amazing and beloved. Did I ever go just so I could have the spread and bread? Absolutely... thanks for the trip down memory lane! I miss it!!!

What kind of apples do you use for baking with the chicken? Your recipe just says 'baking apples'.

I’m thrilled to find out about Hazen’s tomato sauce recipe! Just in time for fall dinners. Thank you!
Your ppd=true love. Made me envious, especially after the day I had here. You are fortunate.
